We work as a partner within the Shropshire & Telford Educational Partnership (STEP) Teaching School Hub.
STEP is proudly one of only 87 Teaching School Hubs announced in February 2021 by The Department for Education. Our remit is to work with the DFE in simplifying support for the teacher recruitment and retention strategy – improving school performance across our locality.
STEP will work in partnership with our local schools to support initial teacher training; deliver the new Early Career Framework for new Teachers and their mentors; act as an appropriate body under the new statutory changes; and offer the new suite of National Professional Qualifications for leaders, as well as developing and signposting research informed CPD to meet local needs.
Shropshire and Telford Education Partnership (STEP) is an inclusive partnership comprising SALOP Teaching Alliance, The Alliance of Leading Learning (ALL) Shropshire Primary Partnership (SPP) and Severn Training and School Alliance (STSA) – representing all phases and contexts, including Special and Alternative Provisions, across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Shropshire Primary Partnership takes the strategic lead for ITT across the Teaching Hub.
The Shropshire Primary Partnership is based at two sites within Shropshire, St Peter’s CE Primary School and Nursery, Wem and Woodfield Infant School, Shrewsbury. Together with our strategic partner, the University of Chester, we offer the highest quality of Primary Initial Teacher Training through the School Direct route.
We also provide school to school support and a wide range of professional development opportunities for primary schools within our area and draw on a large pool of talent and expertise to deliver support for schools, staff development and initial teacher training.
