A very warm welcome to St Peter’s CE Primary and Nursery School website which has been designed to give you a taste of our school and its community.
As a church school we aim to serve our community by providing an education of the highest quality within a strong framework of Christian belief and values. Our values of Care, Honesty, Fairness, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect shine through everything we do. Parents, carers and children of all faiths and none will find our school a welcoming place where we all dream, believe, achieve and flourish.
We aim to prepare our children not just for tomorrow but for every tomorrow throughout their life. Their first day at school is as important as their last and we ensure that the foundation to their learning is set from the minute they walk through the school gates.
We are lucky to have excellent facilities which we make the most of, especially our outdoor provision and Forest School area, which is the envy of many other local schools! We have an active School Council which takes part in termly projects to improve our school. We also have a school Safeguarding Team and an ECO team. Our children are at the heart of everything we do.
We have a very dedicated team of staff who achieve the best outcomes for our pupils in all areas – not just in academic performance. We strive to develop our pupils’ knowledge and skills across the curriculum and to support them to become resilient, thoughtful, creative and independent – encouraging them to shine like a light in the world and help others. We are constantly seeking to develop and improve and we work closely with our fellow Empower Multi-Academy Trust schools and governors to ensure that we keep this at the forefront of everything we do. However, only twenty percent of a child’s learning takes place within a school environment; it is therefore important that we work in close partnership with parents and carers in order to develop children fully.
