My youngest two children are at St Peter’s, in Year 5 and Year 3. Our family moved from Manchester to Wem a little over a year ago; we are very settled and enjoying life here. Having started my career as a Software Developer I am now Chief Technology Officer for Travel Innovation Group (TIG) based in Chester. I am a member of the Senior Leadership team and responsible for Calrom, one of three businesses within TIG. My role involves all aspects of financial planning, procurement, and recruitment; enabling the business to deliver software solutions to our two sister businesses and major international airlines. I hope my skills and experience will be beneficial to the school. I am very approachable and am looking forward to helping the school develop further.

I’m delighted to have been selected as a governor for St Peter’s. It was the school that welcomed my eldest daughter when we moved from RAF Benson to RAF Shawbury in 2013. I now have two further children attending the school in Year 1 and 3 and both are loving their time there.
I served in the RAF as a helicopter crewman and then instructor and have, for the last 6 years, been working for a defence company in project/change management followed by roles in business development and capture management. I would hope that the experiences I have gained from my career to date may be of some value in supporting the school.
I have always been very interested in education and all the challenges and opportunities schools offer our sons and daughters. However, that being said, I am very aware of the fact that the head and her staff are the professionals and that governors are there primarily to provide them with help, constructive feedback and encouragement.
Therefore, I believe my major role as a governor at St Peter’s is to support the head in whatever way I can in order to help ensure that the school continues to go from strength to strength. I’m very much looking forward to the challenge!

I currently work for the Shropshire Music Service teaching classroom music across the whole primary age range in schools in Shropshire. Prior to this role, I worked as a primary teacher and member of the senior leadership team in schools in London and Newcastle upon Tyne. These roles have given me an in-depth knowledge of education and the chance to see learning across a variety of school settings.
I have been a governor at St. Peters since 2017 and my particular interest is in teaching and learning. I enjoy finding out how different subjects are taught across the school and how this impacts on children’s progress and wellbeing. I have 2 children’s currently at St. Peter’s in year 2 and year 5. I am looking forward to working alongside the other governors to support the school during my next term of office. |

I am keen to join the governing board of St Peter’s CE Primary School & Nursery since my daughter joined the Nursery at the start of this school year. As a Parent Governor, I would like to support the school, its pupils and staff to ensure we all flourish and achieve our best.
As a full-time teacher and a Head of Art, I have 6 years of experience in schools to understand the wants and needs of a primary setting. I hope to be an effective governor, making use of my knowledge gained from teaching the curriculum across year groups. |

Having worked as a teacher for the past 8 years, I am invested in education and continue to be in my role as a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), Mental Health Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead at a nearby primary school. I believe that my experience of understanding safeguarding and inclusion for all pupils, as well as promoting positive mental health, would help me contribute positively to the governing body of St Peter’s. My eldest daughter is currently in Year One and I would relish the opportunity to become a parent governor to make a positive contribution to the education of local children.
